Need a Spare or Want a Repair?

Let us help make your legacy products last forever...

Just like people, products have their own life cycle. They begin their life cycle as something that has just been designed/created and is being launched as a New Product. Once launched, they are referred to as Current Product offerings. At the end of their life cycle, they are called Legacy Products.

Legacy Products are typically older model products that are no longer in production, but the Manufacturer is still supporting Customers who have them.

Supporting Legacy Products is usually done by:
1. Building new cables for safety stock
2. Refreshing (refurbishing) cables from the field

New Cables for Safety Stock
For the end user, the equipment itself might be working fine and it is “only” the cable that seems to be faulty. They do not want to invest the money in purchasing a whole new piece of equipment when all they really need is a new cable.

For the manufacturer, supporting their current customers is of the utmost importance. However, the cost associated with maintaining/producing older models along with new models can be costly both in terms of inventory and in time.

Being able to offer a new cable that works for that older model equipment keeps the end customer happy, reduces the manufacturers overhead, and goes a long way to earning customer loyalty.

Refreshing (Refurbishing) Cables from the Field
For Legacy Products, there are times when producing a new cable does not make sense economically due to the cost of some of the components.

For instance, some connectors used in cables can be very expensive, have a long lead time, and have a much longer lifespan than the other components that make up the cable.

Wear items (i.e. – tubing) do not share the same lifespan as the more expensive connectors. Depending on the environment or way they are used, these wear items will reach the end of their lifecycle before the connectors. Therefore, it can be more economical to replace the worn components than to replace the entire cable.
